Loss Prevention 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars 3760 Fernandina Road, Columbia, SC 29210 JOB PURPOSE Assists in developing and implementing Company awareness programs addressing theft, safety, inventory, and operational controls. Assists in product protection strategies, awareness, and deterrence programs in the DC Machine Manufacturing Facility. Works in partnership with management to ensure operational excellence and reduce exposure to theft through operational assessments and associate training/awareness.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts assessments of operational and shortage control procedures to monitor MFG compliance and inventory shortage and performance trends. Communicates with manufacturing and works to improve operational deficiencies. Reviews various exception reports to identify and resolve inventory shortage. Conducts physical security/safety inspections to ensure store follows Company policies and procedures. Works to create a “culture of honesty” and “impression of control” in the MFG Facility. Carries out theft prevention programs for MFG. Identifies theft trends within assigned location and implements theft prevention strategies to reduce exposure. Assists in overseeing the MFG’s surveillance system and product protection programs. Measures MFG’s compliance and raises awareness with Management and Associates. Assists Loss Prevention Lead with internal investigations of dishonesty in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines. Conducts surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Examples may include but are not limited to: Attending court hearings on DC Machine’s behalf. May have multiple location responsibilities. Maintains customer service awareness. Adheres to Company policies and procedures and maintains high ethical standards. Works well with fellow Associates and Supervisors. Engages in effective dialogue with Management team. Meets deadlines and acts with an appropriate sense of urgency. Adhere to guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe handling, removal, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. All other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency Prior experience in Loss Prevention or educational background in Loss Prevention, security, or law enforcement preferred. Knowledge of surveillance and apprehension techniques; demonstrated ability to make decisions in stressful situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic math and reading skills and legible handwriting. Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, and various other computer programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to spend time moving around MFG to include bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing on a frequent basis. Working conditions cover a range of circumstances. Ability to work weekends, nights, holidays. Candidate will be working around loud noise levels from time to time. May also include frequent running.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Team members are constantly standing, walking, running, carrying, twisting, bending, seeing, stooping, balancing, hearing. Team members will be lifting objects weighing from less than 20 pounds to 60 pounds. Must be at least 18 years old.
