The Asset Protection and Safety Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the assets, team members, and facilities of Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. Reporting to the Director of Asset Protection and Safety, this role leads investigations, supports incident prevention, and ensures adherence to safety and risk management protocols across a diverse range of locations, including retail stores, warehouses, donation centers, online operations, transportation hubs, Career Solutions and Support Services Offices. Job Description Essential Functions Conducts thorough investigations of internal and external incidents of theft, policy violations, or safety concerns, complete thorough documentation and case resolution in a timely manner. Conducts confidential interviews when deemed necessary. Conducts site visits to evaluate security systems, identify potential risks, and ensure safety and asset protection standards are maintained. Monitors, maintains, and reports on alarm systems, access control, property damage, and safety-related events. Analyzes data to identify loss trends and recommend strategic interventions. Maintains relationships with law enforcement and testifies in administrative or legal proceedings when needed. Reviews and preserves surveillance footage for investigative and legal purposes. Assists with the development and delivery of loss prevention, safety training and awareness initiatives. Ensures timely reporting and communication of safety incidents, asset protection findings, and risk exposures. Effectively communicates relevant information to Director of Asset Protection or Risk/Safety Manager promptly. Prepares clear, detailed, and accurate reports of asset protection and safety investigative activity. Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and procedures, and legal requirements. Identify hazards and incidents of regulatory non-compliance and recommends corrective measures and communicates findings to respective leadership. Assists in the development and updating of comprehensive asset protection and safety policies and procedures. Assists Asset Protection with monitoring alarm calls, unlawful intrusion, fires and property damage. Reviews and examines camera footage related to safety incidents for GWMT, legal and insurance purposes. Regular, dependable attendance in accordance with Goodwill’s policies. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required Skills:

Education High school diploma or GED required. Experience Minimum of 2 years of conducting loss prevention and safety investigations. Knowledge and Skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism. Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple responsibilities. Basic knowledge of loss prevention techniques and security systems. Certifications and Licenses Valid Tennessee Driver’s license with reliable transportation to visit multiple sites required. Preferred Education / Experience / Knowledge & Skills / Certifications & License Associates degree or higher in Criminal Justice preferred. Prior investigative interviewing, interrogation and loss prevention and safety investigation experience preferred. Wicklander-Zulawski certified or willingness to gain investigative certification.
