Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in Hollywood, Florida. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to support legal operations by managing critical administrative tasks and ensuring smooth case workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal document preparation, scheduling, and online filing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file legal documents through county-specific e-Filing systems with accuracy and timeliness.
- Schedule court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings using online scheduling platforms.
- Draft and review simple court notices, letters, and other legal documents to support case management.
- Conduct online searches for court records and official documents, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Maintain and update case management systems to track deadlines, case statuses, and client details.
- Manage attorneys’ calendars, scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel to address inquiries and provide updates.
- Assist with basic legal research to support attorneys in case preparation.
- Ensure all correspondence and documentation comply with legal and organizational standards. Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a legal assistant or similar role.
- Proficiency in county-specific e-Filing systems and online scheduling tools.
- Strong skills in drafting legal documents, including court notices and correspondence.
- Familiarity with case management software to organize and track case details.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook for document preparation and communication.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with clients and legal staff.
- Ability to perform online legal research and navigate official records databases.
