Legal Office Assistant 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 1000 South Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 JOB SUMMARY The Legal Office Assistant will perform legal secretarial duties, coordinate office activities and provide office administration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Proactively support attorneys, as directed Receive and greet visitors, answer telephone calls, and respond to general inquiries such as whether or not hearings are going forward Sort, open, log and distribute incoming mail and electronic mail and upload to case files Coordinate and set hearings, depositions, mediations and other relevant events Manage attorney calendars, including calendaring due dates for the responses to complaints and discovery Prepare, file and serve legal documents such as notices of email designation, notices of appearance, notices of deposition and notices of the hearing Assist with releases, prepare joint stipulations for dismissal and proposed orders for dismissal, as well as actively following up as needed Use electronic filing systems in Florida such as the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and eCourtsey Compose routine letters, memoranda and reports Proofread and correct documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format and syntax Coordinate office supplies, equipment and repair/maintenance services through the Corporate Office Assist with the preparation of expense reports, time keeping and other similar records
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two (2) years of legal office experience Property insurance defense and litigation experience preferred Must be self-managed and be able to work independently Solid organizational skills and strong attention to detail in meeting deadlines Advanced knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Must have the ability to use Florida’s web based systems such as the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and eCourtsey. Ability to accurately process a variety of tasks and high volumes of work in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written Holds a high level of professionalism

HYBRID WORKING & COLLABORATION WEEKS
