We are in need of someone who is reliable and proactive. The Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases, get involved in fact-finding projects and be responsible for developing and maintaining all case files. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet all of our clients’ needs. We are seeking someone who has great attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes initiative and is capable of leading others.

Paralegal Job Responsibilities:

Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court filings. File documents electronically using state and federal court e-filing systems. Maintain and organize case files, both physical and digital. Track case deadlines, court dates, and important milestones. Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates. Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas. Review and organize documents for production or trial preparation. Coordinate the collection and analysis of evidence and exhibits. Conduct research on statutes, case law, and legal procedures. Summarize deposition transcripts, trial testimony, and other records for attorney review. Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings with clients or opposing counsel. Act as a liaison with court personnel, clients, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress. Interview clients to collect case information and documentation. Assist clients in completing financial affidavits, parenting plans, and other required forms. Organize trial binders, exhibits, and witness files. Prepare subpoenas and arrange for service of process. Assist the attorney in courtroom setup and provide on-site support during hearings and trials. Prepare correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and third parties. Maintain billing records and time entries for case-related activities. Perform general office duties, such as managing calendars, answering phones, and ordering supplies. Assist with enforcement of judgments, such as garnishments or contempt actions. Draft post-judgment motions or modifications in family law cases. Stay updated on changes in family and civil litigation laws and court procedures. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance case efficiency.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience 10 years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal with at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a family law firm. Experience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal briefs and memos. Experience managing medium to large-scale document productions.
