General:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal specializing in Florida Guardianship Law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Florida guardianship statutes and procedures, experience in preparing legal documents, and the ability to assist attorneys in managing guardianship cases from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management. Assist our two attorneys in managing guardianship cases, including initial case intake, client communication, and ongoing case updates. Document Preparation. Draft, review, and file legal documents related to guardianship proceedings, such as petitions for guardianship, reports, inventories, annual accountings, and court orders. Court Filings. Prepare and file necessary documents with the appropriate Florida courts, ensuring compliance with all applicable court rules and procedures. Client Communication. Serve as a liaison between the attorney and clients, including guardians, wards, and family members, providing updates and gathering information as needed. Hearing Preparation. Assist in preparing for court hearings, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, and drafting pleadings and motions. Compliance Monitoring . Ensure that guardians comply with statutory requirements by tracking deadlines for filings and necessary actions, and by coordinating the completion of required training or certification. Qualifications. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal in FLORIDA, with a focus on Florida guardianship law. Comprehensive knowledge of Florida guardianship statutes, procedures, and court rules. Excellent writing and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality. Benefits.
