BBDG provides a broad range of legal services across multiple practice areas, including complex litigation, corporate and business transactions, and liability and workers’ compensation defense. Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal / legal assistant to join our workers’ compensation defense team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of workers’ compensation law and a great deal of experience with requesting and obtaining medical records. Required Qualifications 2+ years of workers’ compensation defense in Florida. Preparation of medical summaries / chronologies. Requesting medical records. Proven experience executing billable tasks and entering time accordingly. Associate’s degree or paralegal certification. Responsibilities Include Schedule and docket case-related events deadlines. Conduct communications with clients, opposing counsel, and judges. Finalize and e-file court documents. Draft non-complex notices, motions, and subpoenas. Draft discovery requests and responses, including compilation of responsive records. Request, review, and process records / discovery, including medical records. Perform all tasks related IMEs, including scheduling and compilation of records sent in anticipation of IME. Conduct background and online research related to facts of the case, case witnesses, statutory requirements, and procedural rules.
