Paralegal or Legal Assistant Position Available In Martin, Florida

Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team in Palm City, Florida. This is a long-term contract position within a small legal office, specializing in bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of various bankruptcy processes and chapters, with the ability to manage cases effectively from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and file bankruptcy petitions, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
• Manage case calendars to ensure all deadlines and court dates are met.
• Handle communication with clients, attorneys, and court officials professionally and efficiently.
• Maintain and update case management software to track case progress and documentation.
• Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings with a high level of accuracy.
• Conduct research on bankruptcy laws and regulations to support case preparation.
• Assist in managing and organizing case files and legal records for easy retrieval.
• Coordinate with clients to gather necessary financial documents and information for filings.
• Monitor court dockets and filings to stay informed on case developments. Requirements
• At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a focus on bankruptcy law.
• Proficiency in handling cases across various bankruptcy chapters, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
• Strong knowledge of bankruptcy filing procedures and legal documentation requirements.
• Experience using case management software for tracking and organizing legal cases.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and legal professionals.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
• Familiarity with court filing systems and procedures.
