The Paralegal position research’s law, investigates facts, and prepares documents and applications to assist their assigned attorney. They are our client’s point of contact for each assigned matter as well. All Paralegal duties and functions are supervised by an attorney. Responsibilities Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars, meeting deadlines; documenting actions and client communication; inputting information into file database and confirming case status with attorney. Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress. Helps their assigned attorney with trial preparation. Answering phones and emails promptly. Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential. Attends all assigned client meetings both in person and telephonically. Tracks the status of client filings. Prepares and composes motions and routine correspondence while acting as a liaison to court personnel. Prepare and draft filings to relevant federal and state agencies. Complete indexes, pleadings, exhibits, checklists, motions, legal research for litigation proceedings. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication. Active listening. Critical thinking. Complex problem solving. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Especially Word). Strong ability to multi-task effectively. Strong organization skills. Detailed oriented. Strict adherence to legal confidentiality requirements. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients. Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s Degree with two years of legal experience or associate degree with three years of legal experience

Certification:

Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)

Experience:

Two years of immigration experience and Two years of customer service experience.

Bilingual:

English/Spanish/Portuguese (Preferred)
