Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our legal team in Miami, Florida. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career by supporting attorneys with various aspects of litigation and case management. As this is a long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of legal proceedings within a dynamic financial services environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high-volume caseload while providing dedicated support to an assigned attorney.
  • Assist in handling diverse litigation matters, including bodily injury, property damage, subrogation, and other claims.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, conduct client meetings, and monitor compliance with discovery requirements.
  • Prepare cases for trial, depositions, and hearings, including drafting motions and briefs.
  • Investigate cases by obtaining relevant records such as medical, insurance, and employment information through subpoenas or requests.
  • Communicate with clients, claims adjusters, attorneys, medical providers, courts, and other entities to gather necessary documentation and information.
  • Organize and maintain legal files, including setting up file jackets and summarizing records for attorneys.
  • Perform legal research to support the drafting of motions and other legal documents.
  • Utilize case management software to track case progress and billing functions effectively. Requirements
  • Possess a paralegal certificate or degree.
  • Have at least three years of paralegal experience, including expertise in drafting discovery documents, summarizing claims files, and interviewing clients.
  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and calculators.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experienced in using word processing software, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with legal research and time billing software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation, insurance defense, and discovery processes.
  • Capable of managing calendar functions and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
  • Skilled in legal document drafting and claim administration.
