Job Description

Paralegal-Collections Idea Financial 800 NW 62nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33126 Idea Financial is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to support our Collections Department. This role is critical in facilitating legal and administrative processes related to outside counsel engagements, settlement documentation, and document preparation for referrals to collectors and attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong legal administrative skills, an understanding of debt collection processes, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and manage settlement agreements and supporting documentation related to outside counsel matters. Gather and compile supporting documents for referral to collection agencies and outside legal counsel. Maintain and update case files and records in accordance with internal and external compliance requirements. Act as a liaison between the internal collections team, outside counsel, and other third-party agencies. Track deadlines and follow up on deliverables related to legal referrals and settlements. Conduct basic legal research as needed. Assist with general administrative tasks in the collections department, including data entry, file organization, and reporting. Support the legal and collections teams with ad hoc projects and process improvements. Compiling documents from Risk/Legal/Finance/Underwriting to send UCC enforcement. UCC enforcement Compiling list of Merchant’s depositors from bank statements Search for each depositor’s contact information UCC enforcement follow-up

Qualifications:

Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field preferred. Minimum 2+ years of paralegal or legal administrative experience, preferably in collections, litigation, or contract management. Familiarity with collections practices, legal terminology, and settlement documentation. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information. Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems; experience with legal case management software is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with outside counsel or third-party collection agencies. Understanding of FDCPA and relevant state/federal collection laws.
