Job Description
Position Overview The Legal Assistant plays a key role in supporting attorneys through document preparation, case management, and direct client communication. This position involves drafting and filing legal documents, coordinating with opposing counsel and third parties, managing discovery, and assisting with legal research. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling a fast-paced legal environment while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely case progression. Responsibilities
- Work closely with an experienced attorney to draft and review multiple legal documents daily: motions, pleadings, notices of deposition, discovery shells, subpoenas, settlement statements.
- Filing in the Florida Courts e-Filing portal daily.
- Provide daily follow ups with Opposing Counsel and third-party providers to set hearings, depositions, coordinate mediations, and prepare clients for meetings with the attorney.
- Complete discovery with client and attorney: interrogatories, requests to produce, etc.
- Communicate specific and accurate information to the attorney, clients, and others.
- Organize cases and calendar.
- Investigate facts to help in the resolution of legal disputes.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Record and store client information.
- Legal Research.
- Process checks.
- Other tasks as requested by the firm.
