This entry-level position is ideal for someone with strong clerical skills and an interest in the legal field who is looking to work in a professional environment. The Legal Office Assistant will assist with scanning and organizing documents, managing email correspondence, scheduling client appointments, and preparing outgoing mail. Key Responsibilities Scan, file and organize legal and administrative documents both electronically and in hard copy (ensuring we have both electronic and hard copies of all documents). Manage general office email inboxes and route messages appropriately. Schedule and confirm client appointments and maintain on the office calendar. Support attorney by monitoring deadlines and managing calendar reminders. Prepare and send outgoing mail, including certified mail and overnight packages. Assist with general office upkeep and clerical tasks as needed. Provide support to attorney on administrative matters.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or administrative training a plus. Previous experience in an office or legal environment preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn legal software. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to thoroughly proofread documents for errors and correct them. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Familiarity with law office document management systems is a plus. Ability to conduct thorough legal research using various resources is a plus.
