Scher and Meltzer is seeking a self-motivated, experienced, and reliable Plaintiff Litigation Paralegal to grow our legal team. In this position, you will provide administrative support to our attorneys to enhance office effectiveness. Our firm provides a positive work environment with the opportunity for professional growth.

Daily responsibilities include:

communicating with clients, answering phone calls, taking messages, scheduling meetings, managing attorney calendars, requesting and reviewing medical records, conducting initial client interviews, drafting demand letters and other legal correspondence, maintaining and organizing client files in our client management program. Our ideal candidate will have the following:

• Minimum 3 + years experience in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation
• Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of Aderant case management software (preferred not required)
• Bilingual (preferred not required)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Manage Full case load
• Trial attendance and assistance
• Analyze medical bills and collateral source records
• Draft all required pleadings, including discovery responses
• Draft Expert Disclosures, Witness & Exhibit Lists, and prepare exhibits for trial
• Thorough understanding of insurance Plaintiff Litigation Process
• Mediation, deposition, and trial preparation with attorney
