Editing Full Job Description Workers’ Compensation Discovery Paralegal Primary Responsibilities:
Responding to discovery requests, including drafting objections and creating privilege logs Drafting outgoing supplemental discovery requests and tracking responses Creating and updating timelines/chronologies from medical records Requesting medical records and tracking responses Drafting correspondence to clients and opposing parties E-filing documents through the eJCC portal, including Petitions for Benefits Preparing and editing ‘merge’ forms from case management software, including motions Calculating the average weekly wage from wage records Compiling and preparing exhibit lists for trial
Skills Required:
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF editing software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Kofax) Must have working knowledge of 60Q rules of procedure for workers’ compensation claims and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure related to discovery Must have experience tracking billable hours contemporaneously with work performed Must be well organized and self-motivated Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities Must be able to work in a team environment Should have experience with Client Profiles/ATO practice management software
