Paralegal
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Paralegal in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This role is predominantly involved in the legal sector where you will conduct research, fact-check, and prepare various legal documents.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting research for legal cases and preparing relevant reports
- Preparing a variety of legal documents such as deeds, leases, contracts, ordinances, and resolutions, ensuring they conform to legal standards and policies
- Assisting in the preparation of lawsuits and appeals including pleadings, exhibit and trial folders
- Assisting in the discovery phase of litigation, including document preparation and scheduling witnesses for depositions
- Performing clerical office functions such as data entry, drafting correspondence, filing, processing and distributing mail, and scheduling appointments
- Maintaining a wide range of personnel records, including payroll, attendance records, and personnel files
- Assisting with archiving all office files, including case files
- Assisting in preparing materials for meetings and public speaking engagements as directed by the supervising attorney
- Utilizing various software and systems such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), and Case Management Software for performing tasks
- Managing billing functions, briefing, and claim administration, while maintaining strong communication skills.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Aderant software
- Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)
- Experience with Case Management Software
- Knowledge of CompuLaw
- Ability to handle billing functions efficiently
- Excellent briefing skills
- Experience in Calendar Management
- Ability to manage claim administration effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
