Job Description
Paralegal The Howard Law Firm, P.C. 1633 Mount Vernon Road, Atlanta, GA 30338 Duties for this litigation paralegal position include, but are not limited to; providing administrative, litigation & research support to attorneys; including, but not limited to: researching/drafting legal documents and demand letters; preparing discovery responses; filing other legal documents & court papers; assisting with investigations by obtaining additional information or evidence from clients and witnesses; serving as communication liaison between respondents, attorneys, courts and clients; preparing cases for hearings by organizing files, interviewing and subpoenaing witnesses, and preparing evidence exhibits, performing legal research, including analyzing rules, regulations, case law, and statutory law; maintaining records on the status & deadlines associated with cases; assisting attorneys with the pre-litigation phase of personal injury cases; assisting attorney with settling personal injury cases, hearings and client meetings. Practice areas of law for the law firm include mainly criminal defense (federal and state) and plaintiff civil (personal injury). Office location is in Dunwoody. Hourly wage is commensurate with experience. Qualifications Proficient in legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw Strong legal administrative experience and document review skills Experience in personal injury law and legal drafting Excellent writing and organizational skills Familiarity with Outlook, legal case mgmt and document management systems Ability to conduct thorough research and manage litigation processes Experience with filing legal documents Experience with billing Summary As a Paralegal with a main focus on this firm’s personal injury cases, you will support attorneys by managing legal documentation and conducting thorough research. Your core skills in legal case management, document review, and legal drafting and filing will be essential in preparing cases for eventual settlement or trial. You will also utilize your skills in the firm’s criminal cases on an as needed basis. With strong organizational and writing skills, you will ensure that all materials are accurate and well-prepared and that all deadlines and court dates are notated and scheduled, contributing significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our legal team.
