We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in personal injury law, proficiency with Filevine for case management, and experience using BuyCrash to request police reports and medical records portals such as Ciox . This role is essential in providing support to our attorneys, assisting with claim management, document preparation, and client communications. Key Responsibilities:
Claim Setup:
Set up and manage personal injury claims by preparing case files and ensuring all necessary documentation is organized and accessible.
Letters of Representation:
Draft and send letters of representation to insurance companies, medical providers, and other relevant parties.
Requesting Police Reports:
Use BuyCrash to request police reports for ongoing personal injury cases and ensure timely receipt of reports.
Requesting Medical Records and Bills:
Utilize Ciox and other medical record portals to request, track, and manage medical records and bills for clients.
Data Entry:
Accurately maintain and update case information in Filevine case management system, ensuring all records are up-to-date and correctly entered.
Client Communication:
Communicate regularly with clients, insurance companies, and other external parties to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
Document Management:
Organize and manage both physical and electronic case files to ensure quick and easy access.
General Administrative Support:
Provide additional clerical support to attorneys and paralegals as needed to ensure smooth workflow and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, is required in personal injury law.
Required Systems Knowledge:
Experience using Filevine for case management, BuyCrash to request police reports, and Ciox (or similar medical records portals) to obtain medical records and bills.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, insurance companies, and third-party vendors.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with experience using legal software and portals.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Paralegal certification or legal coursework is preferred but not necessary.
