Your Role:

The Junior Paralegal’s primary goal is to support our litigation team with administrative legal duties, including drafting memos, pleadings, motions, and orders, and preparing for hearings and trials, when directed, under the direction of one or more Senior Paralegals and/or Attorneys in the office. A Junior Paralegal provides quality legal services to our clients at a lower billable rate than an Attorney, and by doing so, benefits both the Firm and our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Process, calendar, and file case related mail and email. Deadlines are calendared, and scheduling conflicts are identified and trial team is notified Prepare notices of scheduling conflicts, leaves of absence, and withdrawal notices when directed by Senior Paralegal or Attorney Provide general litigation support under the direction of more senior paralegals and associate attorneys Drafting of standard documents when directed Document organization and copying Client correspondence with opposing counsel, mediators, judges offices as directed Maintenance and purging of client files Filings of pleadings electronically and at the clerk of court Answer telephones; take messages Schedule appointments Create contacts and update contact information in the case management or contact management system Enter billable time Assist in preparation for meetings/ depositions/ hearings Assist in preparation of discovery and responses to discovery demands Organize and sort case information and files Review daily reminders Complete tasks Review daily, weekly, and upcoming monthly calendar items and prioritize work load

Qualifications:

Completed a minimum of 2+ years of post-secondary education. Bachelors, 2+ years’ experience in a law firm or paralegal certification preferred, but not required.
