Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the legal field. Experience in a law firm setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong administrative background and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence Conduct legal research and gather case-related information Manage case files, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances File legal documents with courts (electronically and in person) Perform administrative tasks, including answering phones, managing calendars, and maintaining office supplies
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred Paralegal certification is a plus Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role preferred (but not required) Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
