Will assist attorney by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. It is expressly understood and practiced that all duties associated with this position are performed under the direct supervision of the assigned attorney. Job Duties Maintain client communication on a regular basis. Gather and analyze intake information, as well as relevant documents associated with new files and enter pertinent information into case management software. Initiate claims, verify coverage and maintain communication with insurance adjusters to provide case status updates. Prepare documents and correspondence such as letters of representation, demand letters, billing inquiries, etc. Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of wages. Update case details on a regular basis Assists in drafting legal documents including routine pleadings and motions Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files. Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings. Maintains Attorney calendar Experience as a legal assistant required Knowledge of federal court process / language Experience drafting discovery a plus Ability to work high volume and remain detail oriented Experience calendaring for a supervisor/attorney
