Overview To provide efficient and skilled legal secretarial support services to the Claims Legal Department. Major Areas of Accountability Types or transcribes, edits, and proofs Legal Department’s general correspondence, memos, reports and documents in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
Composes and types correspondence and memos as assigned or anticipated for Legal Department.
Coordinates all meetings by scheduling dates and conference rooms, preparing necessary material, and notifying appropriate personnel of dates and times.
Maintains appointment calendar and diary system for Legal Department.
Answers incoming telephone calls to the Legal Department in a courteous and professional manner; routes calls to appropriate personnel or takes messages as needed; greets visitors to Legal Department in a courteous and professional manner and announces caller to appropriate personnel.
Enters and updates data regarding litigates files in computer system, including data about the nature of the claims and period of litigation.
Assist with the scheduling of depositions; arranges for obtaining medical and other evidentiary records.
Coordinates the accumulation of data and assumes the responsibility for the accuracy of data recorded on various statistical reports or lists.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
