Paralegal/Legal Assistant The Payne Firm Ruston, LA 71270 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various legal matters, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and organized. This role requires a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Paralegal Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the workflow of the office and assisting with case management. Responsibilities Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars. Conduct document review and prepare legal documents for filing. Assist in legal case management by organizing files and maintaining accurate records. Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as needed. Exhibit strong phone etiquette while communicating with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases. Proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards. Assist attorneys with research related to personal injury and criminal law procedure. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times. Requirements Previous experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with criminal and personal injury law, or related fields is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in legal administrative tasks and case management software is advantageous. Attention to detail is critical for document review and proofreading tasks. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
