We are currently seeking an experiencedParalegal to join our dynamic Insurance Defense team. This role isa crucial part of our legal department, providing comprehensivesupport to our attorneys in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigationsupport, a deep understanding of the insurance industry, and apassion for detail-oriented work. This is a fantastic opportunityfor an experienced paralegal looking for a challenging andrewarding role in the legal field.
Responsibilities:
As anInsurance Defense Paralegal, your primary responsibilities willinclude: 1. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing ofpleadings, motions, and briefs. 2. Conducting in-depth legalresearch and analysis on various insurance defense matters. 3.Reviewing and summarizing medical records, depositions, and othercase-related documents. 4. Coordinating and managing timelines forvarious cases, ensuring all deadlines are met. 5. Organizing andmaintaining case files, including managing electronic databases andphysical records. 6. Assisting with trial preparation, includingthe creation of exhibits, witness preparation, and coordination oflogistics. 7. Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courtpersonnel, and experts as necessary. 8. Providing administrativesupport to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintainingcalendars, and drafting correspondence.
Qualifications:
To beconsidered for this role, you must possess the followingqualifications: 1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as aparalegal, preferably within a high volume insurance defensesetting. 2. A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program orequivalent legal studies. (Nice to have) 3. Extensive experience inlitigation support, including a thorough understanding of thelitigation process and legal terminology. 4. Proficiency in legalresearch tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis. 5.Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to managemultiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. 6. Strong written andverbal communication skills, with the ability to interactprofessionally with all levels of staff, clients, and courtpersonnel. 7. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. 8.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, andPowerPoint. 9. Familiarity with legal case management software is aplus.
