The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude in assisting attorneys with case management. This is a part-time position, offering 20-25 hours per week to start, with flexibility in scheduling.
Real Estate Closings:
Assist in preparing and reviewing closing documents for residential and commercial transactions. Coordinate with clients, realtors, and lenders to facilitate smooth closings. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in real estate transactions.
Probate & Estate Planning:
Prepare and file probate documents with the court, including petitions, inventories, and accountings. Assist clients with the administration of estates, including asset collection and distribution. Draft estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Communicate with clients regarding estate planning and probate matters.
General Legal Support:
Maintain and organize case files, documents, and correspondence. Schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines. Draft basic legal correspondence and prepare reports as directed by attorneys. Ensure that all legal deadlines are met and assist with maintaining case calendars.
Qualifications:
Proven experience (minimum of 2-3 years) as a paralegal or legal assistant, particularly in real estate, probate, and estate planning. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document preparation. Familiarity with probate processes and real estate transaction procedures. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (experience with [insert legal software, if applicable] is a plus). Ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and third parties. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
