Legal Department Assistant Position Summary:

The Legal Department Assistant provides high-level administrative and project support to the attorneys of the Cross Insurance legal department. This role will assist with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) coordination. This role also supports various corporate executives and business initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, and capable of handling complex projects in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct administrative and project-related support to in-house attorneys and senior leadership. Organize and manage the execution of legal documents and operational contracts. Serve as liaison with acquisition targets, brokers, and advisors to coordinate all phases of the M&A process, including negotiation, due diligence, contract finalization, and deal closing. Maintain and manage the company’s contract database; act as the primary point of contact for related inquiries. Process and track invoices from outside counsel Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned. Assist with various reporting requests including business production, sales goals,

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pre-Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field required. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience in a legal, corporate, or insurance environment preferred. Ability to work independently while aligning with corporate strategies and objectives.
