Duties Client Communication & Case Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing guidance through the claim process, maintaining regular communication, and ensuring their case is handled efficiently and professionally. Identify and relay pertinent case updates and client concerns to the attorney. Assume primary responsibility on all files assigned to you as the primary contact for all clients, taking the calls and keeping the client informed Maximize available insurance coverage, scheduling, prepare closing statements and process settlements; develop and maintain effective working relationship with medical staff Demonstrates effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills to optimize case management. Investigates, reasons, and collects pertinent information in situations where only limited information may be available. Facilitate and guide clients through the claim/case process Initial client interview, investigation, witness interviews Be responsible for moving client files toward a conclusion in a timely manner, avoiding unnecessary delays. Effectively communicate with clients to uncover pertinent information and data to include treatment status, medical information that could impact the case, changes in work status, and records information per operating procedure. Maintains excellent customer service and interfaces with clients, providers, and team members according to policies and procedures. Stay current on messages by checking them several times daily and responding promptly. Must understand and communicate in accordance with applicable State Bar rules related to protecting information and confidentiality while avoiding the unauthorized practice of law. Interfaces with other team members to achieve office and departmental goals; may provide back up to other team members, including but not limited to client meetings and video conferences. Work with demand writers to create the demand letter, and produce timely demands according to Martinez Law standards Research special issues of recovery or insurance questions.
Medical Records & Treatment Monitoring:
Manage and evaluate medical records, expenses, and bills. Consult with clients and providers regarding treatment and future care needs. Ensure medical documentation is current and organized to support the case. Gathers, processes, and organizes incoming medical records, bills, pleadings and/or legal filings, and other case related documents in a timely manner per procedure. Ensure the file is properly updated and current with all medical treatment, liens, insurance policies, investigation materials, liability status, issues, concerns, insurance coverage, etc. Consult with clients and their medical providers regarding medical treatment and future medical needs; Have a clear understanding of insurance types and limits as related to our clients.
Attorney Support:
Collaborate closely with attorneys by providing timely updates, assisting with communications and documentation, preparing settlement materials, and keeping them informed of case developments and critical issues. Promptly perform any assignments from the attorney, including but not limited to obtaining pertinent information, and keeping the attorney well informed of important issues on assigned clients. Submit monthly status reports to our attorney for all pending cases under your assignment. Collaborates with appropriate attorney(s) and other team members to effectively handle client cases including identification of relevant facts and issues to achieve optimal results for clients. Assists attorney(s) with written and verbal communications with adjusters, defense counsel, court administration, and clients. Inform the attorney of any changes, new information, concerns, or issues that need his attention and input. Confirms balances and expenses; prepares the appropriate settlement documents for review by the attorney(s). Requirements Must submit a cover letter with at least two short paragraphs. One in English and one in Spanish to show written proficiency. Application will not be considered without a cover letter. Must be able to speak English and Spanish fluently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish 3-4+ years of experience in Personal Injury law. Must have professionalism and prioritize client customer service Must have intense research, communication, and people skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have a positive attitude and professional appearance. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Must be proficient in utilization of available technology including case management software, computers, databases, portals, State and Federal e-filing, and other software needed to successfully manage cases.
