Job Description
Cranfill Sumner LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Wilmington office. This role supports attorneys by providing high-level administrative and litigation support to help ensure the efficient operation of our legal team. Key Responsibilities Manage and organize new and existing case files, including preparing conflict checks and sub-filing systems Draft, edit, and format correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents (dictation-based with 24-hour turnaround preferred) Schedule and calendar depositions, mediations, and client meetings Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, and third parties on behalf of attorneys Handle document preparation for court filings and the Industrial Commission Process incoming/outgoing mail, scan and save documents into NetDocuments Maintain confidentiality and organization of case materials and legal records Prepare materials for hearings, depositions, and discovery production Submit invoices and request checks for filing fees and related expenses Close files and prepare records for offsite storage, coordinating with the finance department as needed Provide general administrative support to three or more attorneys Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys or firm management Requirements 2+ years of litigation experience in a fast-paced legal environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite , especially Word Minimum typing speed of 70 WPM Familiarity with NetDocuments , Elite , or other legal management systems a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong sense of discretion and professionalism Expectations Reliable, on-site attendance Monday through Friday (unless pre-approved or adjusted) High accuracy in work product and the ability to meet short turnaround times Capable of managing urgent or rush assignments professionally
