Business Immigration Paralegal Sivaraman Immigration Law Carrboro, NC 27510 Sivaraman Immigration Law, a NC-based boutique immigration firm, has an in-person opening for a full-time Paralegal . We focus on employment-based immigration in select business sectors, in addition to some family-based immigration processes. We are dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to individuals, families, and businesses navigating the complexities of the various immigration processes, and offer a more specialized and personalized experience than most larger firms. Our team is small and quirky, with an emphasis on cultural fit, a love for dogs, and a good sense of humor. The work environment can vary from quiet to deadline-driven, but we rely on our team’s adaptability and high skill level to make the most out of all challenges and to have a good time doing so. We are seeking a motivated and upbeat Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for immigration law, a commitment to providing excellent customer service to our diverse clientele, and a low-ego approach to life and work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. At least 2 years of experience working full time in an office or administrative position post-college. Strong preference for paralegal experience or experience with immigration law on some level. Two+ years experience as an immigration paralegal is ideal for this position. Exceptional client-focused attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with clients, co-workers, and attorneys in a deadline-driven environment. Strong and consistent attention to detail is a must for this environment, particularly in review and editing of documents and data. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency in Microsoft based platforms and software, and the ability to easily adapt to new software programs as needed. Outstanding case management and organizational skills, and the ability to professionally manage multiple cases in an ongoing manner. Strong business writing skills, including proper grammar and spelling in a consistent manner. A history of maintaining confidentiality. Job Duties Managing a caseload of various immigration matters, including J-1, H1-B, F-1, and O-1 nonimmigrant visas; EB-1, EB-2, and
EB-3 I-140
petitions; I-130 petitions; adjustment of status; consular processing; and more. Drafting and preparing a variety of petitions and applications with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the U.S. Department of Labor. Drafting legal documents, including petitions, applications, affidavits, and briefs. Communicating effectively and professionally with a diverse range of corporate and individual clients.
