General:
The Paralegalwill work closely with partners and associates to support thefirm’s clients in a manner that is consistent with our core valuesand vision. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of North CarolinaTrust & Estates experience along with attention to detail, strongorganizational and drafting skills, and the ability to communicateeffectively, both written and verbal. The paralegal position willalso consider headstrong, determined, willing to learn candidateswho demonstrate great skills in writing, reading, and the abilityto multitask efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare legaldocuments such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review,approval, and use by attorney. Correspond with clients and preparespreadsheets and documents. File pleadings, familiarity withe-filing proceedures. Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnessesand parties to action. Conduct intake calls with potential newclients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation. Assistattorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings,trials, and conferences. Assist attorneys in analyzing andresolving recurring problems that arise when dealing with Trust &Estate matters Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant duedates, and prepare correspondence to opposing counsels and/oropposing parties. Assist clients to comply with discovery requestsand compile requested documents.
Job requirements:
Undergraduatedegree preferred but not required Paralegal certificate orcertification preferred but not required 2 years of high net-worthTrust & Estates experience preferred, but not required. Strongwilled, determined, and willing to learn also must apply Solidunderstanding of North Carolina law Exceptional verbal and writtencommunications skills, with superior attention to detail Excellentprioritization, problem solving and time management skills Abilityto learn and utilize new software, technology and techniques asneeded to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplaceCreativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced workenvironment Tax law familiarity a very big plus
