Position Overview We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to support our litigation team. This is a hands-on role that reports directly to the Practice Manager and involves working closely with attorneys and paralegals. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our cases run smoothly, clients remain informed, and our operations stay organized. While prior legal experience is preferred, it’s not required—we’re looking for a motivated individual who’s eager to learn and grow with us. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the office calendar, tracking all deadlines, hearings, court appearances, depositions, and meetings
- Manage calendar entries from NYSCEF, eCourts, eTrack, and court correspondence
- Schedule, confirm, or adjourn events such as court appearances, EUOs, depositions, and 50-h hearings
- Perform electronic court filings via NYSCEF, WebCivil, PACER, and related platforms
- Scan, file, and organize documents and electronic case files
- Update the firm’s document management system with notes, correspondence, and calendar updates
- Answer and route phone calls appropriately
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist with photocopying, faxing, and general office duties
- Provide additional administrative support as needed What We’re Looking For
- Prior law firm experience is a plus, but not required—we are open to training the right candidate
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills with a willingness to learn legal software (training provided)
- Self-starter with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
