Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Paralegal to join their Charleston, South Carolina office. This role offers a hybrid work model and involves providing critical support to attorneys by managing cases, conducting research, drafting documents, and organizing case materials. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, and litigation skills, with a preference for experience in toxic tort or general litigation. Key Responsibilities:
Draft routine legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and production documents. Manage multiple cases from inception to trial, ensuring accurate and timely handling of case materials. Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and discovery pleadings. Conduct document searches and factual research to support case preparation. Review and analyze documents to assist attorneys in developing litigation strategies. Maintain and organize case files using established systems for accessibility and compliance. Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. Support attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills:
Paralegal Certificate from an accredited school required; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. 2+ years of experience as a toxic tort and/or general litigation paralegal preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Professional/Adobe DC. Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation process, with the ability to assist attorneys from case onset to trial. Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to draft precise legal documents. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to thrive within a litigation team.
