Holcombe Bomar, PA is a defense-oriented law firm that has been in existence since 1946. It is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It defends hospitals, doctors, governmental entities, truck drivers and trucking companies, nursing homes, contractors, and clients in many other industries. Our office has full-time opening for an in-person paralegal position. We are looking for someone who is a team player, task oriented, and someone who can work independently, as well as with others. Requirements Paralegal Certification or equivalent work experience. Two (2) years of relevant experience. Ability to multitask. Willingness to take direction and initiative to learn. Good computer skills. Pays close attention to detail. Works well independently. Works well under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to be pro-active in case management. Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain a professional positive attitude. Preferred experience with PC Law, but not required. Preferred experience with billing time and electronic billing, but not required. Knowledge of legal principles, legal terminology, court system and legal procedures helpful. Efficient in Word and Microsoft Outlook.
Responsibilities:
Monthly electronic and regular defense billing. Organize, index and bates stamp medical records. Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, notices of deposition, subpoenas for records, etc. Preparing and filing documents with courts. Organizing the documents related to completed and ongoing cases. Take guidance from managing attorney and work independently to complete tasks assigned. Scheduling, calendaring, and checking court rosters. Maintaining pleadings and discovery produced in cases.
