What would I be doing every day? The Legal Assistant reports to the Chief Operations Officer and works with other team members. The legal assistant performs in a fast-paced environment with layered job responsibilities. Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Opening new case files so we can get to work for our clients and closing settled cases using the firm’s case management software. Drafting, editing, and sending case-related letters required for different types of cases like personal injury, workers comp, and social security disability. Communicating with insurance adjusters/companies to file insurance claims and get the legal process started. Ordering and summarizing police reports critical to the success of our clients’ cases. Entering and monitoring statutes of limitations to ensure we meet important legal deadlines. Reviewing, scanning, saving, and organizing important documents related to cases. Entering notes and other data into the case management software to keep everyone informed of the progress opening and closing cases. Researching insurance carrier information critical to our clients’ cases. Monitoring and following up with new clients to ensure they complete their sign-up packets. Managing and overseeing new client email and working with them to get the information required to get their cases opened. What We’re Offering Competitive pay and annual performance reviews.
