Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team with a focus on commercial litigation. This position will secondarily assist with banking legal representation, contract and lease review and drafting, and commercial real estate transactions, including understanding of title insurance.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for clients
- Assist in the drafting and preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and post-judgment collections. Also, assist with drafting and preparation of legal documents, focus on commercial real estate and commercial lending, including leases and contracts
- Maintain and organize files
- Schedule appointments, and coordinate hearings and witnesses
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel with professionalism and phone etiquette
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in the coordination of document production and discovery processes
- Utilize project management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks
Skills:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a law firm or legal department with focus on commercial litigation
- Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation
- Experience working as a Paralegal or similar role within a law firm or legal department
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and strong proofreading abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment Impressive task management, attention to detail, and communication skills are absolutely essential.
