EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Be a part of the uniformed PUC Motor Carrier Enforcement Division covering the 67 counties of Pennsylvania! Within this role, you will exercise the authority to stop and inspect all commercial motor vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. Protect the motoring public by placing unsafe vehicles and drivers out of service. On occasion, you will work side by side and in conjunction with State and Local Police with the goal of preventing and reducing the number of injuries and fatalities involving commercial motor vehicles.
The Public Utility Enforcement Officer conducts safety audits to ensure that new motor carriers possess accurate knowledge of the regulations and safety management practices in place, which lends itself to safer operations on the highways of Pennsylvania.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time, home headquartered employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Counties of patrol are Cambria and Indiana. Candidates must reside in one of the counties of patrol or relocate within six months of employment. Additional travel may be required.
