Police Sergeant 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Aberdeen, NC 28315 The Town of Aberdeen Police Department is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Police Sergeant. Primary responsibilities of the job will be to supervise, monitor and inspect the work of the officers on shift and fill in for the Lieutenant as needed. The Sergeant will assist the Lieutenant with duties as assigned, including providing field training to new officers. Interested applicants should possess the following requirements: A minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement Ability to conduct progressive disciplinary action when needed Ability to motivate officers within the department Ability to multi-task in high stress situations Ability to communicate with the public in a professional and positive manner Field Training Officer training required or ability to obtain within 12 months First Line Supervision and DCI training modules 1-3 required or ability to obtain within 12 months Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word No disciplinary action within the last year The successful candidate will be classified as a non-exempt, hourly employee and work rotating shifts.

Hiring salary range:

$54,826 – $68,000; additional salary consideration will be given to candidates who have previous experience in law enforcement and/or qualifications above the minimum. Benefits include $2,000 sign-on bonus, longevity pay, member of Local Governmental Employees Retirement System, 5% 401-k contribution, $2,500 retention bonus, take home vehicle, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, retiree medical insurance paid up to 50% upon retirement, and paid vacation and sick leave.
