MAJOR DUTIES
1. Provides physical security by armed presence at fixed post or armed patrol to protect Department of Energy (DOE) interests from theft, sabotage, and other hostile acts that may cause adverse impacts on national security, and health and safety of employees, public, or environment.
2. Serves as deterrent to theft through armed physical presence.
3. Controls access to Special Nuclear Material (SNM) and government property through verification of valid security badge and material pass; follows established policies and procedures governing access to SNM and government property.
4. Performs armed roving patrols, surveillance, and armed response to activated intrusion detection and duress alarms for security of SNM, classified government material, and property.
5. Controls entrance and exit of personnel and vehicles to property protection areas through verification of valid security badge, and personnel and vehicle inspections.
6. Protects against unauthorized possession and removal of classified government property by visual inspection of persons and packages and verification of required level of clearance for removal of classified material.
7. Protects site employees by maintaining good order and discipline through enforcement of security rules and regulations. Performs other duties as directed by supervision in support of area mission/activities.
8. Participates in cognitive and performance based training and performance testing to demonstrate job proficiency to include specific job knowledge and skills, physical fitness, and weapons proficiency.
9. Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Company procedures and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES and
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
1. Reading, writing, and basic math skills are required.

3. Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid drivers license.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age.
5. Must be able to successfully complete the Tactical Response Force I (TRF-100) Training.
6. Must meet medical requirements in accordance with 10 CFR 1046.
7. Must be able to wear a tight-fitting facepiece respirator with no facial hair (i.e., clean shaven for those who grow facial hair) between the seal and the skin in accordance with 10 CFR 1046 and 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1).
8. Must successfully complete General Employee Training, Firearms Qualification, Advanced Readiness Physical Standard (one mile run in 8:30 or less; 40 yard dash prone-to-standing position in 8 seconds or less), Intermediate Force Techniques and Radiation Worker Training.
9. Must be able to maintain Basic Readiness Standard (1/2 mile in 4:40 or less; 40 yard dash prone-to-standing position in 8.5 seconds or less) after graduation.
10. Must be able to maintain Combined Handgun and Rifle Qualification (70% weapons accuracy qualification on prescribed DOE course of fire) after graduation.
11. Must be able to successfully pass a Federal background investigation and must obtain/maintain a DOE Q security clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Additional reviews and/or testing procedures may be required for designated positions.
12. Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management. 13.Prior Law Enforcement, Special Operations, Military Police, Military (Combat Arms), Security or other tactical experience or associate degree is preferred, but not required.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
