  • $64,896 a year 2 days ago Qualifications Driver’s License Entry level Full Job Description JOB Under the appointment of the Presiding Juvenile Court Judge, employee assists Juvenile Probation Officers with various juvenile probation and/or juvenile intake duties.

Receives complaints; considers the commencement of proceedings; makes investigations, reports, and recommendations; supervises juveniles under orders of the juvenile court; makes referrals for services; and performs other duties as designated by law or as directed by the court. This position is shift work and requires schedule flexibility to include 3rd shift hours.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

(All duties listed may not be included in any one position nor does the list include all tasks found in a position of this class.) Makes investigations, reports and recommendations to the Juvenile Probation Department. Refers to the DHR for investigations, reports and recommendations of complaints and allegations of dependency, or children in need of supervision when so specified by the policies and procedures of the court. Receives and examines complaints and allegations of delinquency, in need of supervision or dependency of a child for the purpose of considering the commencement of proceedings as provided by Alabama Law. Makes appropriate referrals to other private or public agencies of the community as needed. Makes predisposition studies and submits reports and recommendations to the court as required by Alabama law. Performs such other functions as are designated by Alabama law or as directed by the court.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Must be able to communicate effectively.

The person in this position frequently communicates in person and on the telephone.

The person in this position must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etcCertifications or Licenses RequiredApplicant will be required to successfully obtain licensing from the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts as a certified Juvenile Court Intake OfficerMust have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age. All applicants will be subject to a thorough background investigation. A drug test will be given.
