As a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) within Recovery Connections of Central Florida, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and effective support to individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders and related mental health challenges. Utilizing your lived experience and professional training, you will engage with clients in a mobile setting, offering encouragement, empathy, and practical guidance to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their recovery goals.
Responsibilities:

Provide Peer Support:
Establish and maintain trusting relationships with individuals in recovery, offering emotional support, active listening, and guidance based on your personal experiences and professional training. 2.
Outreach:
Conduct outreach activities, community-based meetings, and other initiatives, to connect with individuals who may benefit from Recovery Connections’ services. 3.
Recovery Planning:
Collaborate with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, identifying strengths, needs, and goals, and assisting with the implementation of strategies to enhance overall recovery. 4.
Resource Connection:
Educate individuals about available community resources, such as housing, employment, healthcare, and social services, and assist in accessing these resources as needed. 5.
Peer Advocacy:
Serve as a supportive advocate for participants, assisting them in navigating various systems, including healthcare, legal, and social support, to ensure their needs are met and their rights are respected. 6.
Crisis Intervention:
Recognize and respond appropriately to individuals experiencing crisis situations, providing immediate support and connecting them with appropriate emergency services. 7.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes, adhering to all organizational and regulatory requirements. 8.
Continuous Learning:
Stay informed about current best practices in the field of recovery support services, attending trainings and seeking professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills. 9.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other members of the Recovery Connections team, including clinicians, counselors, and case managers, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to client care.
Qualifications:

Lived Experience:
Have personal experience with substance use disorder recovery and demonstrated ability to navigate the recovery process successfully.

Certification:
Possess a valid Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) certification or equivalent credential recognized in the state of Florida, or working towards valid CRPS certification.

Show genuine empathy, compassion, and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals seeking recovery, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
