Description of Work:
This is professional work involving the application of case management and clinical knowledge to develop strong relationships with mental health providers and assist with coordinating care, resources, and services for families of children and adolescents involved with the legal system. The CRA works to cultivate and maintain connections with contacts within local agencies and programs, and stays abreast of available community resources for referral purposes. Work is performed with a wide latitude for use of clinical and professional judgment, and is reviewed by program psychologists and the Director of the Behavioral Evaluation Program. Work involves communicating directly with families regarding their needs, providing case management and court facilitation, and facilitating the referral process for recommendations made by program psychologists in collaboration with a family specialist. They will work with guardians and case workers to identify and resolve barriers to services in order to secure treatment, assist in providing strategic family crisis interventions as needed, and provide verbal information to the Court and program psychologists; this involvement includes coordinating with liaisons and local providers to fast-track participant engagement. Work includes administrative duties of monitoring cases, documenting progress/status, and data collection. The CRA also participates in weekly to monthly case reviews with program psychologists, family specialist, and relevant parties to identify needs and assist with treatment planning recommendations. Further, the CRA maintains communication with the CINS Staffing Committee and attends monthly staffing to obtain referrals and provide input regarding treatment recommendations.
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related clinical discipline. Master’s degree and licensure preferred. Applicable experience can be substituted for education. Training and/or experience in social work, family systems-youth intervention, and case management is preferred.
