The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing effective training programs. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees while minimizing risks and hazards. In addition, this candidate would be responsible for Kaizen activities, utilizing Lean business techniques to remove waste materials and drives continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity. You can learn more about our www.sai-al.com. Responsibilities Serve as SAIA Plant safety, OSHA, worker’s comp, TBA and health coordinator, to ensure that all protocols are implemented and maintained. Assist Management and other members in appropriate loss control and accident prevention measures to comply with TBA and SAIA mission and objectives. Develop, implement, and manage safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide training and development programs on occupational health, first aid, CPR, and other safety-related topics. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization. Stay updated on changes in workers’ compensation law and EHS regulations to ensure organizational compliance. Develop, implement, audit, and mange safety polices, processes, programs, and procedures that will reduce frequency and severity of personal injuries and illness. Lead and perform security and disaster protection activities. Lead and Champion a Safety first culture, through daily interaction and mentorship with the Safety Committee. Lead and Champion the Kaizen process, to ensure implementation and tracking of all improvement activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as Occupational Safety and Health Technician, Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional is a plus. Minimum of three years of proven experience in safety management or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, workers’ compensation laws, and environmental health and safety (EHS) practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop training materials and deliver engaging presentations. Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis for incidents and developing effective solutions. Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred; additional certifications related to occupational health are a plus. Strong understanding of ergonomic principles. Basic math skills. Strong leadership qualities. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be flexible and able to work during the day or at night, or on weekends as needed. Strong Microsoft Excel and Office Suite skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while fostering a proactive approach to workplace safety.

Language:

Must be able to speak and read English. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Work Environment :

Open Office Environment, moderate noise level. Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be able to travel 10% of the time. 5.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required. While preforming the duties of this job, the Team Member is required to talk, see, and hear. The Team Member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time (e.g., during safety audits) and may be occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. The ability to travel by automobile and airplane are both required.
