Safety Manager – Commercial Construction

Location:

Brandon, MS or Huntsville, AL
Responsibilities

  • Implement the Construction Safety Management Program Initiatives applicable to projects.
  • Monitor project activities with the review of the construction management team and design procedures, programs, and policies affecting construction safety on projects.
  • Develop and implement safety measurements/metrics for tracking and reporting safety performance of the General Contractor self-perform work and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the development and acceptance of job hazard analysis (JHA), Site Safety Work Plans, Public Hazard Analysis, and Environmental Management Plans.
  • Engage in Site Safety Inspections and coordinate corrections with all contractors.
  • Reviews and oversees procedures for the investigation of construction related incidents and accidents.
  • Develop and implement Contractor Orientation procedures for a multi-lingual work site.
  • Management level loss control reviews for all Workers Compensation and GL Claims and Safety Inspections Statistical information to develop and present technical reports.
  • Facilitates all pre-bid/ post award contract meetings represent the loss control performance expectations.
  • Provide general safety oversight and performance of both administrative and field safety management responsibilities.
  • Manage, update, document, & organize all applicable safety manuals, procedures, and documentation including ISNetwork and OSHA filing records.
  • Ability to manage oversee the safety responsibilities listed above for multiple projects as applicable to reasonable project size and location.

    Salary & Compensation
Pay Range:

$45,000 – $75,000 (Full-Time Salary)

    Education, Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
  • Bachelor degree in a construction/safety related discipline or a minimum 1-3 years of construction safety management experience
Preferred:
OSHA 500

Authorized Instructor

  • Technical awareness in environmental management which includes storm water pollution prevention planning and administration.
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate, as both may be required.
  • Professional ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal contract documents.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written) – to executive management, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and design firms.
  • Basic skills in math skills and competency related to construction responsibility.
  • Computer proficiency with current software systems.

Extremely organized with ability to multitask.
