Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical Compliance and Surgical & Occupational Health Operations (RN) is a senior-level licensed RN responsible for ensuring regulatory, clinical, and operational compliance across ChiMedical’s Federal Workers’ Compensation (OWCP) Injury Program, Office-Based Surgical Center (OBSC), and DOT Drug Testing & Occupational Health Program. This leader serves as a clinical authority, operational coordinator, and compliance officer, ensuring that all services are delivered with medical integrity, procedural readiness, and in full adherence to federal, state, and accrediting body guidelines. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Director of Clinical Operations, and provides oversight to OWCP case managers, surgical nursing personnel, and DOT testing coordinators. ⸻
Core Responsibilities:
1. Federal Injury Program Oversight (OWCP) Supervise all OWCP case managers, ensuring accurate submission of CA-1, CA-17, CA-20, CA-28, LMRs, impairment ratings, and schedule award documentation. Confirm medical efficacy and necessity of all diagnoses and treatments rendered under OWCP protocols using DOL Bulletins and FECA guidelines. Coordinate with internal providers (MDs, DCs, PTs, etc.) to ensure proper sequencing of treatment, progress evaluations, and return-to-duty planning. Serve as ChiMedical’s primary clinical liaison to DOL, federal agencies, and referring physicians, ensuring clarity, compliance, and continuity of care. 2. Surgical Center Operations Management Manage the daily clinical functions of the Office-Based Surgical Center, including: Procedure scheduling and pre-operative clearance verification Inventory, medication, and supply preparedness Staffing oversight for nursing and anesthesia teams Regulatory compliance with CMS, OSHA, Joint Commission, and state licensure Conduct quality assurance reviews and enforce sterile technique, infection control, and pre/post-operative safety protocols. Lead surgical case readiness meetings and serve as the point of accountability for surgical procedural compliance. 3. DOT Drug Testing & Occupational Health Program Oversee ChiMedical’s DOT-compliant Drug Testing Program, including: Chain-of-custody compliance Specimen collection training and certification Coordination with certified labs and Medical Review Officers (MROs) Documentation and reporting protocols for federal and DOT requirements Manage broader Occupational Health Services, including physical exams, screenings, and post-incident evaluations. ⸻
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (multi-state compact license preferred) Minimum 5-7 years of clinical experience, with at least 2-3 years in ambulatory surgical services and/or occupational health Direct experience with
OWCP / DOL
compliance, case management, and federal injury documentation strongly preferred Familiarity with ASC regulatory standards, DOT drug testing procedures, and multi-provider coordination Strong leadership and supervisory skills with proven ability to manage diverse interdisciplinary teams
Preferred Certifications:
CCM (Certified Case Manager), COHN (Certified Occupational Health Nurse), or ASC Administration credentials ⸻
