Job Details:
SUMMARY:

This position will be a key member of the food safety and quality assurance team and is responsible for ensuring that product meets all quality and food safety standards set forth by corporate and local food safety policies and procedures, and federal regulatory requirements. This position requires the daily coordination and communication between food safety & quality assurance, operations and all applicable support staff at the facility. This person will be responsible to train new and current FSQA Team Members. Coordinate scheduling of direct reports Provide team leadership and support through daily actions, coaching, and guidance to staff. Participate in reviewing plant microbiology lab monitoring programs. Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and or quality attributes. Execute process control audits and recognize deviations. Oversee monitoring verification and validation activities. Assist with facility required audits and provide follow up action plans to assure compliance. Implement processes to review Standardized Work to align with Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures. Coordinates and clarifies the FSQA policies and procedures. Lead/Participate in Root Cause problem solving events at the facility. Ensure compliance with all plant related KPI’s. All other tasks as defined by the plant FSQA General Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree – Food Science or related field, preferred

Experience:

2+ years in a food manufacturing environment production under USDA or FDA. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Familiar with USDA/FSIS and/or FDA regulatory requirements.

HARPC/HACCP

Certification preferred.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills for creating simple queries, spreadsheets, etc. SAP knowledge preferred.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills verbal and written. Good problem solving skills. Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Supervisory:

This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat similar tasks.
