Thisposition assists the General Manager in supervising dailyoperations. In addition, the Operations Manager monitors employeeperformance, oversees the safety and training department,identifies safety issues, and addresses operational needs. This job opportunitysalary range is $70,000-80,000.

Operations and Safety Managersmajor responsibilities:

Assists the General Manager in theday-to-day operational oversight of location operations, includingSafety, Human Resources, and Finance Administers driver hiring andcompliance process (e.g., interviewing and driver selection,collecting applications, criminal background checks) Have directinvolvement in hiring, developing, and disciplining drivers andstaff. Focus on safety, accidents, and customer complaintresolution. Provides various reports and analyzes, including safetytrends. Develops cost-saving recommendations. Performs other dutiesand projects as assigned. Assumes first-line supervision oflocation employees. Ensures company policies and procedures arefollowed. Monitors and evaluates Operations activities.

Includes:

vehicle on-time statistics, missed runs, customer complaint data,accident data, road call data, and other operations-relatedfunctions Provide direction and guidance to location trainers.

Develop and monitor the contents of classroom training to ensurecompliance. Teach classes as required. Schedule and conductre-certification and retraining. Provides assistance and trainingto drivers and attendants on passenger management and othersafety-related issues. Performs all other duties as assigned andmay assist with other areas based on location needs OperationsManager requirements: Three years’ experience in paratransitoperations. Three years of transit supervisory experience ispreferred. Possesses National Safety Council Defensive DrivingInstructor certification or similar certifications in Safety.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements to assure compliance withapplicable Federal, State, and local laws for operating demandresponse transportation services (FTA, DOT, ADA, and Drug &Alcohol, DOJ Title VI, and State DOT regulation) Computer literatewith working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The ability toprioritize tasks effectively and manage time effectively. Theability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels,including drivers, customers, senior management, clientrepresentatives, union officials, and the general public. Workextended hours, including weekends and holidays, if needed.
