Safety and Compliance Manager Oak Ridge Waste and Recycling – 2.0 Danbury, CT Job Details Full-time $80,000 – $90,000 a year 19 hours ago Qualifications Bilingual Spanish English Mid-level Analysis skills Organizational skills Full Job Description Overview Interstate Waste Services in Danbury, CT is looking for an experienced Saftey and Compliance Manager in the waste and recycling, or transportation / truck driving fields. You will provide management, clerical, and administrative support to the safety department. This position will work with Operations and Safety to ensure that transportation and company standards are met.

Essential Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each task in a timely and efficient manner. Create and maintain DOT driver qualification files for assigned markets. This includes daily updates and regular reviews of information for accuracy and compliance. Coordinate, monitor and administer the drug & alcohol testing and information collection for assigned markets. This includes performing DOT Clearinghouse queries as needed. Manage and oversee the requirements for drug and alcohol program when a positive test result is received. This includes issuance of the SAP letter and all needed documents for tracking and follow up testing. Perform MVR inquires for all new hires and annual reviews. Analyze results for compliance with company program to ensure compliance. Communicates with employees about safety concerns and expiring licenses. Maintain data collection and reporting required for

OSHA & FMCSA

compliance. Maintains and distributes department related information on a routine basis. Assist with on-boarding of acquisition employees for DOT compliance- Driver qualifications, drug & alcohol testing and review for adherence to company requirements. Manage previous employment requests for safe driving requirements. Each market coordinator has other responsibilities that may be required for the company such as updating of databases, fleet rosters, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Familiarity with DOT driver qualifications is strongly preferred. Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Salary Range Minimum USD $80,000.00/Yr. Salary Range Maximum USD $90,000.00/Yr.
