Quality Control Manager/Site Safety and Health Officer (QCM/SSHO) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated professional to fulfill a dual role as both the Quality Control Manager (QCM) and Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for a growing construction firm. This individual will oversee both safety and quality assurance across a variety of construction projects, including new builds, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and utility work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in federal safety standards and quality control practices, possessing a strong ability to lead on-site compliance efforts and support a culture of safety and excellence. Responsibilities Develop and implement site-specific safety plans in accordance with OSHA and

standards. Be present on-site to manage and enforce the company’s safety program and the government-approved Accident Prevention Plan. Conduct daily safety inspections, maintain detailed logs, and ensure timely resolution of identified hazards. Lead incident investigations, complete required reports, and maintain OSHA Form 300 logs. Provide safety orientation for all site personnel and visitors. Monitor and enforce subcontractor compliance with safety protocols. Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, including SDS and high-hazard activity lists. Design and execute project-specific quality control plans. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to align quality expectations. Track and resolve deficiencies using a structured system. Support the development of internal quality policies and procedures. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure safety and quality goals are met. Assist in the creation and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory compliance. Travel to project sites across the Southern U.S. as needed. Essential Skills In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and

standards. Proven experience in construction safety and quality control, preferably in federal or commercial projects. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage subcontractors and enforce compliance. Familiarity with construction processes including site work, utilities, MEP systems, and demolition. Ability to maintain detailed documentation and conduct effective training sessions. Current certification in First Aid and CPR. Successful completion of the 40-Hour

Site Safety & Health Course. Completion of the 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Course. Certified in USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors. A minimum of five years of direct experience serving as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). Additional Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, including subordinate managers and field professionals. Proven track record in identifying and mitigating construction site hazards through proactive safety measures. Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment. Capable of performing under pressure and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet project milestones. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels. Experience in delivering safety training and engaging with frontline personnel. Flexibility to travel to various job sites as required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
