We are looking for an amazing Safety Operations Manager to fill this role, which is based in our Doral office. The Safety Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the safety of operations across assigned ships in the Princess Cruise Line fleet. The role involves collaboration with both shoreside and shipboard teams, and has a direct impact on maintaining safety standards, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Responsibilities
- + Manage day-to-day safety operations for assigned ships, ensuring compliance with safety standards, equipment maintenance, and safety training.
+ Lead safety assessments and collaborate with shipboard and shoreside teams to implement safety improvements. + Oversee accident reporting, near-miss management, and risk assessments. Ensure follow-up actions are completed. + Lead or support safety projects + Assist with reporting non-conformities to Flag authorities and Class, and lead in resolving PSC deficiencies + Support safety oversight dry dock planning and compliance reviews. Implement and corrective/preventive action plan following audits as assigned. + Participate in ship visits and post-visit follow-ups, providing detailed safety reports and action plans + Oversee compliance with safety equipment standards and regulations, such as fire-fighting gear and life-saving appliances. + This role requires the ability to manage complex safety issues, including incident investigations, risk assessments, and compliance with international maritime safety standards. The Safety Operations Manager must anticipate challenges, analyze data, and implement effective solutions to maintain safety and operational integrity. + The Safety Operations Manager contributes significantly to the safety culture of the organization. By ensuring compliance and leading safety initiatives, the role supports the broader strategic goals of Princess Cruise Lines and helps maintain the company’s reputation for safety and operational excellence. + Although the role does not have direct reports, it requires strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams, lead safety projects, and influence both shipboard and shoreside personnel. The role also involves managing resources and contributing to safety-related budgets and planning.
- Requirements
- + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience + 5 years seagoing experience as a Deck or Engine Officer or equivalent + Knowledgeable in Passenger Shipping Operations + In-depth knowledge of ISM Code and its practical applications + Preferred disciplines or majors: Nautical Science, Engineering, or Occupational Safety + Preferred certifications or additional education: Chief Officer Unlimited, 2nd Engineer Unlimited, or NEBOSH + proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite + Proficiency in safety leadership + Proficiency in project management + Communication and interpersonal skills + Problem-solving and decision-making abilities + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday). However, beginning in 2027, employees in this position will be required to work on-site at our new headquarters in Miami, FL.
