You will be the key leader that ensures proper processes are being followed and implemented while working on a daily basis with the other offices and departments within the company to guarantee a smooth flow of operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Experience in freight logistics industry is required. Setting expectations with Drivers for rules of the road according to company standards. Oversee compliance with FMCSA rules, including Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, drug and alcohol testing, and driver fitness requirements. Communicating with drivers on a regular basis. Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for drivers, including new driver orientation, defensive driving techniques, accident prevention, and proper use of safety equipment. Data entry and filing of day to day documents. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Experience working with drivers is required. Foster a culture of safety within the company by promoting awareness and ensuring that all employees, especially drivers, understand the importance of safety in their daily tasks. Implement and oversee the use of telematics, dashcams, and other technologies to monitor driver behavior (e.g., speeding, hard braking, lane changes) and ensure safe driving practices. Lead regular safety meetings with drivers and staff to discuss recent incidents, review safety practices, and reinforce company safety policies. Maintain accurate records for driver logs, accident reports, vehicle inspections, and maintenance to ensure compliance during audits and inspections. Great verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact drivers, employees and partner vendors. An expert in DOT regulations and compliance, expedited trucking standards preferred. Ensure that drivers receive continuous education on new regulations, safety protocols, and company policies, providing refresher courses when necessary. Fluent in English and Spanish Work closely with insurance providers and legal counsel on accident claims, compliance issues, and risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure that safety policies align with operational goals, and with HR for driver onboarding, training, and compliance with labor regulations. Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality Special attention to detail & strong organizational skills. Computer literate with expert working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Savvy use of logistics systems. Experience with using McLeod Software a plus. Reliable form of transportation. Reachable by phone or text on nights and weekends.
